It is a big advantage for the one with no secrets to tell, Even if he leaks your secret there is nothing to be afraid, you dont have any weapon for him. So why would he insist helping you to keep your secret?
and also vice versa, If they wont ask any question about important matters they are keeping secrets about it and they don't want you to know it.

He's just being honest with you and that is good or he might tell your secrets... Other option is he doesn't want to be involve for keeping your secret.
